Battery Works began as Power Repackers Pty Ltd in December 1994. At that time the service of repacking or rebuilding Nickel Cadmium (NiCd) and Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) batteries was not generally known to the public. Those who did know had to send them to Sydney and were forced to wait up to six weeks to get their batteries back.

The opportunity was there to provide a much- needed fast turnaround service for Australian industry and consumers.

The company changed its name to Battery Works Pty Ltd in March 2004 and moved to its purpose built new office in April 2004.

The company now has four offices, Brisbane stores at Nundah on the Northside and a southside store at Morningside and Toowoomba and Townsville. All stores have fully trained staff with the complete capability of supplying all batteries and repacking your old batteries. The Morningside and Toowoomba stores are independent franchises.

Batteries are now received daily from customers all over Australia and Papua New Guinea - and from a growing number of agents who are involved in the battery retailing industry.

With the company's continuing investment in sophisticated testing and battery cycling equipment has come a growing business in corporate battery fleet maintenance.
